Les Fleurs at the Newport Flower Show
Last week we traveled to Newport, Rhode Island where we were selected to exhibit at the 23rd annual Newport Flower Show. Every year, the historic Rosecliff Mansion hosts the 3-day event that is dedicated to all things floral.
We were incredibly excited to exhibit, and since it was our first year, we had no idea what to expect. The show featured an opening night cocktail hour with live walking tree ladies, beautiful floral exhibits throughout the mansion, and a lecture by Martha Stewart. We strolled around the rose gardens, sipped aperitifs, and had the opportunity to meet Martha during the opening night (Note: Martha is much taller in person!).
In celebration of the weekend, we donned matching outfits (from France, of course – striped St. James shirts, Hermès neck scarves and tailored white jeans). We had our friend from France, Sharon Santoni, signing copies of her latest book and chatted with our new Newport friends all things gardens and French antiques.
As the weekend came to an end, we were pleasantly surprised to learn we won “Best New Vendor”, complete with a green ribbon to display in our tent and a medal acknowledging our award. This was truly an honor for all of us, and I was overcome with emotion when they presented me with the ribbon. I knew we gave it our “all” and wanted to show the Newport Flower Show the best of Les Fleurs. It will be a moment I always remember & cherish forever.
Thank you for all our Les Fleurs friends who visited and for the new friends we made throughout the weekend. See you next year!
Merci,
Sandra
