Parisian Artisan Alix D. Reynis
In addition to shopping for antiques and walking into flower shops, one of Sandra’s favorite things to do while in Paris is to discover local artisans.
For years, Sandra has been a customer of Alix D. Reynis’ stunning French porcelain boutiques. We’re thrilled to now offer a selection of her pieces in our shop!
The Brand
If you’re not familiar with this brand, Alix D. Reynis is an expert in creating timeless pieces that showcase French savoir-faire. She’s a self-taught artist who works with porcelain authentically made in Limoges as well as metals for her jewelry line. Her pieces are a fusion between traditional and contemporary shapes, inspired by ancient civilizations, the Middle Ages and 18th century.
Craftsmanship
Every piece of porcelain dinnerware is handmade with superior craftsmanship in their Limoges workshop. The process of bisque-firing, glazing, and then firing a second time at very high temperatures gives these pieces their pure white enamel finish, ready to stand the test of time.
Limoges Porcelain
Why is Limoges significant in the porcelain world? This French town is classified as a UNESCO Creative City and all porcelain created there follows a world-class standard of craftsmanship. You’ll notice that all Alix D. Reynis pieces are stamped with the green Limoges stamp, ensuring they were entirely made there. Each one is a functional French piece of art!
The French Table
We love to use her scalloped compote stand to display beautiful pâtisseries (pastries). The matching scalloped dishes are perfect for jams with your next petit-déjeuner (breakfast) or hors d’oeuvres board.
In addition to tableware, we’re excited to carry an assortment of their beautiful candle holders.
I hope you enjoyed discovering this new French brand with us! We’re so grateful to be able to share it with you in our shop. Let us know which pieces are your favorites in the comments below.
