Newport Flower Show 2023

Newport Flower Show at a Glance

I thought it would be fun to share a little recap of our recent trip to the Newport Flower show in June.

I was thrilled to return as an exhibitor and presenter at this wonderful 3-day event which celebrates all things floral and garden. It was our first opportunity to attend since 2019 due to the pandemic, which made it even more exciting.

This year, the show was held at Marble House since its usual venue, the Rosecliff, was undergoing an extensive restoration project. (We can’t wait to see it next year!)

Like the other Newport Preservation Society mansions, the Marble House is an impressive social and architectural landmark. When we arrived, the gardens in the front entry took my breath away. I couldn’t help but feel like we were transported straight to a French chateau!

Opening Night Reception

On the first evening we were invited to the opening night cocktail party which was held on the lawn, surrounded by garden installations and a stunning ocean view. Guests were dressed in their best garden party attire, many with matching hats and floral accessories. There was so much to take in with a live jazz band, beautiful floral exhibits throughout the mansion, champagne with cheese and macarons, and performers dressed as marble statues and flowers in urns.

French Blooms Floral Demonstration

I was honored to present this year with daily floral demonstrations and book signings! In total, we hosted five presentations over three days, and for each show, an attendee won the flowers I had designed.

I felt so blessed with the turnout and the opportunity to share my story and book French Blooms with so many. I also loved hearing from you - about your gardens, inspirations, and dreams of France. The stories you shared left me inspired. I even learned about what it takes to become a Master Gardener from one of the volunteer gardeners of the Newport Flower Society... I may just have to look into that!

Thank you to all our Les Fleurs friends who visited and to the new friends we made throughout the weekend. See you at Rosecliff next year!

Merci,
Sandra
