ZZ Plant

ZZ (Zamioculcas Zamiifolia

  • Place in bright to low light

  • These plants store water in their stems, so only water when the soil is completely dry

  • If the plant is in direct sunlight, it may need water once every 2 weeks

  • If it’s in lower light and not direct sun, watering once a month is sufficient

  • Place your plant on a saucer if it has a drainage hole to collect excess water and to protect your floor

  • Fertilize with an organic fertilizer each time you water your plant

  • During the fall and winter stop all fertilizing. Resume in spring and summer

  • Occasionally rinse or wipe off any dust that builds up on the leaves to allow the plant to breathe

  • ZZ plants thrive in tight pots. They should not need to be repotted for a few years

  • When repotting, you should only increase the pot size (diameter) by 2-4 inches at a time

  • Always wait until spring or summer to repot
