Mother Knows Best
Our mothers have known us since day one. They were our first confidantes, our guardian angels. Each of us is the product of years of motherly advice, worry and encouragement.
Whether it was to... not talk to strangers, stand up straight or deeper conversations about life and how to navigate the twists and turns of decision making, we’ve all heard it many times.
As teens, we often did the opposite of what mom said. Sooner or later, we all acknowledged that mom was right more often than not.
My mom took every opportunity to dish out advice (even when I didn’t quite want it). Nonetheless, my mom was my first role model and my best friend. For that, I’m so grateful.
Years later, with children of my own, I heard myself repeating those same words of wisdom. Even if my boys didn’t seem to be listening, much like I didn’t at their age, I realized later that they heard every word!
