The Benefits of Lavender
Breathe in, close your eyes, and imagine this: the warm sun of Provence kissing your skin while a cool wind carries the fresh scent of lavender across a field covered in purple rows.
Some might describe this as the epitome of relaxation… and we agree!
For centuries, lavender has been used in aromatherapy to help bring mental calmness, promote peaceful rest, and facilitate meditation. While we can’t just teleport to the dreamy fields of Luberon, the aroma of French lavender can bring the South of France to us!
Looking for ways to incorporate lavender into your home? Look no further than these French-approved tips:
Decorate with a dried lavender bundle
Why not kill two birds with one stone and add some fragrance AND decor to your space? While we always love the smell and beauty of fresh flowers, dried lavender can provide a similar and lasting effect.
Create a lavender sachet
In Provence, lavender sachets (small burlap pouches filled with dried lavender) can be found everywhere… often tucked under a pillow or between clothes in a drawer or closet. The aroma of lavender is a natural way to revitalize bed linens and keep clothing smelling fresh. Lavender is also known to provide a calming effect and a peaceful sleep.

Diffuse the scent with the help of a candle or mist
Can’t find your own dried lavender? Lavender candles and pillow mists have the same effect on the senses as the dried pouches.
How do you use a mist? After changing your bedsheets, spray lavender in the air and let the droplets settle onto your pillow. If you are a candle lover, we suggest lighting one an hour before going to bed and letting the wax melt across the top of your candle to avoid a divot in the wax. Blow the candle out and enjoy the soothing aroma as you fall into a restful sleep.
