This late 19th century hand-thrown stoneware olive oil jug or cruche has a beautiful greige (grey / beige) salt glazed patina and unique markings consistent with its age and use.
Once used in rural French homes to store and transport olive oil, this versatile vessel now makes a beautiful decorative accent while telling a story of turn-of-the-century Provençal life.
