A Special Visit to Chateau Sonoma

Imagine a place where California’s golden hills meet the timeless charm of the French countryside—a place that feels both familiar and new, as if you've stepped into a storybook. That’s exactly how I felt when I visited Sonoma this past week for a special book signing event. The region's beauty and tranquility instantly transported me back to the heart of Provence, with its charming town squares and scenic roads winding through Napa’s iconic vineyards.

I was honored to be invited by Sarah Anderson and her wonderful team at Chateau Sonoma for a book signing and floral demonstration. It was my first visit to Sonoma, which Sarah ensured was nothing short of magical.

Our day began with a stroll through Sarah’s picturesque 5th Street Farm, where I was greeted by playful goats, free-roaming chickens, and her stunning greenhouse. We later visited the local grower 7th Street Flowers to hand-pick the blooms for my demonstration, which I carefully selected with the help of owner Kari Copple.

The event itself was held behind Sarah’s shop, in a courtyard surrounded by fragrant olive and eucalyptus trees. Adding a delightful touch, Sarah served a delicious rosé from her very own vineyard. The guests were such kind souls, and after my presentation, they crafted their own bouquets to take home – adding a personal, interactive element to the day.

On the following day, Sarah treated me to a wine tasting at the renowned Scribe Winery. The breathtaking setting made for an unforgettable experience. If you ever find yourself in Sonoma, you absolutely must visit both Scribe and of course, Chateau Sonoma!

I want to send a heartfelt thank you to Sarah and her team, as well as to all of you for your continued support of French Blooms. Meeting you all is what makes this journey so special.

XOXO,
Sandra
