Two Ways to Style a Holiday Mantel

DIY Mantel Decor

As the holidays approach, it's time to transform your home into a winter wonderland! Today, we're sharing two mantel decorating ideas that will inspire your holiday decor and get you into the festive spirit.

First, a special thank you to Wendy Blouin for allowing us to showcase her stunning mantel. Wendy, an avid antique lover and past participant in our Antique Buying Trip, has a keen eye for beautiful finds. Be sure to follow her on Instagram @followthehiddenroad to see more of her gorgeous discoveries!

A White Christmas Style

This timeless, neutral look remains a favorite for a reason! There’s something so elegant about combining silver and gold with soft touches of white—it's like bringing the snow indoors. To create this vignette, we mixed and matched silver, champagne, and light wood-toned trees. The key is to use trees in varying sizes, styles, and shades to add depth and interest. We also elevated some of the trees with elegant pedestals to play with height, ensuring a dynamic arrangement.

Among the trees, we added a sprinkling of Alix D. Reynis candle holders, paired with various textured cream candles for an extra layer of warmth and charm.

A Vintage Woodland Style

For a cozy, nostalgic feel, a vintage woodland mantel is an ideal choice. This arrangement showcases lush holiday greens that capture the essence of a winter forest. Two brass candle holders anchor the display, each featuring a tree-shaped candle that adds a charming touch of whimsy.

This beautiful arrangement is available at Les Fleurs—simply call the shop at 978-475-9669 to place your order. If you're not local, you can easily recreate this look at home.

Start with a low rectangular container, add floral foam and gather holiday greens from your yard. Enhance the arrangement with pinecones, berries, and dried orange or lime peels for texture and a pop of color. Create your own design, ranging from an understated to a more decorative style. Either way, the arrangement will bring the beauty of the outdoors inside, offering a rustic yet refined look.

Tables & Shelves

If you don’t have a mantel, or it will be covered with gifts and stockings hanging below, there may be a table somewhere looking for a festive display! For an eclectic look like we’ve done in our holiday shop design, mix a few French antiques with holiday decorations and fresh greenery accents. To create a small table display like the one shown below, or an elaborate Christmas village scene, see the link at the end of the post for houses and other tabletop figurines.

Whether you’re drawn to a mantel design with the elegance of a “White Christmas” or the cozy charm of a “Vintage Woodland,” we hope these ideas have offered a starting point to inspire your holiday decor. Remember, the key to a beautiful mantel is creating a look that resonates with your personal style and makes your home feel festive and inviting. Gather your favorite elements and most importantly, have fun decorating. The holidays are the perfect time to let your creativity shine and fill your home with warmth and joy.

XOXO,
Sandra and the Fleurettes
