Terre de fer, also known as French ironstone, is a type of faïence, frequently decorated with transferware designs of flowers, butterflies, or birds.
Faïence is a fine earthenware covered in a white enamel using a tin glaze method, produced in France since the late 16th century.

These stunning terre de fer faïence, French ironstone saucières (sauce boats) have gorgeous blue/green transfer patterns, wavy scalloped edges and diamond-shaped attached underplates. Rare finds and a wonderful addition to a French table. Sold indiuidually.
